Audiobooks aren’t playing correctly in the Chirp app. What should I do if there are playback issues while using the app?

If you’re having trouble playing your books or accessing your library using the Chirp app, we typically recommend updating the app and downloading your book as first troubleshooting steps. Please follow the steps below and contact us if you continue to have trouble!

Update the app

Installing the latest version of our app will ensure that you receive all available performance upgrades and bug fixes. Please click here to update if you’re using an iOS (Apple) device or click here if you’re using an Android device.

Make sure to turn on automatic updates or check regularly for new updates to take advantage of new features and app improvements!

Download your book

Once you’ve reinstalled the app, please try downloading the book you’re listening to by following the steps below.

  1. From the My Library screen, open the Actions menu for the book you’d like to download.
  2. Tap the Download option from the Actions menu.
  3. The download has completed successfully when this option changes from “Cancel download” to “Remove download”. You’ll see a green cloud icon next to books in your library that have been downloaded.
