Using the Chirp app or website, you can move audiobooks from your library to a separate archive. This way, you maintain access to books you’ve purchased, but they won’t clutter up your library or use storage space on your smartphone or tablet if you’ve downloaded them for offline listening.
If you’d like to archive a book using the Chirp app, open it to the My Library screen to view all your books. Tap on the three vertical dots to the right of a book’s title, and you’ll see an “Archive Audiobook” option.
If you’d like to archive a book on the Chirp website, go to your library. Click on the three dots underneath the book you’d like to archive and select “Remove from Library.”
If you archive a book by mistake, don’t worry! On the Chirp app, you can restore an archived audiobook from the Settings menu. Just open the Archived Audiobooks folder and click Move to My Library for the book you want to restore.
On the Chirp website, on the My Library page, click on the three dots next to the word “Finished” and select “Archived Books.” From there, you can see your archive and restore books to your library.
If you archive a book that was downloaded for offline listening, we’ll automatically remove the download to save storage space on your device. That way, you don’t need to manually remove downloads for books that you’ve archived! To learn more about deleting downloads for books, please see this FAQ: How do I delete a book I’ve downloaded?
